ANN DICKENSON
All of us that know and love Ann Dickenson understand why she was chosen by Texas Monthly Magazine editor Pam Colloff
to represent our Coffee Shop 'Regulars'. Ann never met a stranger and is as flamboyant in real life as she seems to
be in her corner of page 129 of the December issue.
Here are Ann's words as told to Pam Colloff:
ANN DICKENSON, 61 TEACHER’S AIDE Eats at: Donald Citrano’s
Coffee Shop Cafe, McGregor
“We go to the Coffee Shop Cafe every Friday and Saturday night. They always reserve a table for us, so we call if
we’re not coming. It’s always the same table—the round one in the corner, on the left when you
walk in. We don’t even look at the menu anymore. My husband likes the Spanish omelet and I like the chicken-fried chicken
sandwich.”

Jackie and James Cunningham
The Cunningham's drive the short distance from Waco three or four times a week to The Coffee Shop for dinner. Jackie
loves the Strawberry Fields Salad with the basalmic viniagrette. James usually orders the Donald's Crispy Salad and has
the kitchen substitute grilled chicken since his heart surgery. They usually don't skip a Friday night at the restaurant
since there is always fresh Chocolate Meringue Pie, Jackie's favorite. James loves the Greman Chocolate Pie!

The Friday and Saturday night round table group.
Larry Parham, Adell Parham, Louise Allman. Ann Dickenson and Ken Dickenson. Yvonne Phillips is not in the photo, but
is a trustworthy member of the group... she was just out of town when this photo was taken.
Larry is a school teacher. He was talked into being a pie judge at a yearly harvest festival in Moody. "Tough job,"
we all said! Well, he couldn't stop talkin' about the German Chocolate Pie which was his favorite of the competition.
Larry changed his accolades after trying Valerie's homemade German Chocolate!
